Short Films Competition

1999

A family unknowingly films the last year of innocence. Through real VHS footage, we discover a world where everything feels simple: a father proudly trying out his new camcorder, children laughing, grandparents still there. The film captures a raw beauty—one we only recognize once it’s gone. 1999 is a living archive, a family treasure turned universal story: the moment everything shifts, when we realize too late that we were happy.

biography

I am an anesthesiologist, actress, host of the podcast Date un Doc, and a new short film director. My first passion is cinema. It all began in 1999, the day my father bought a camcorder. I spent my childhood filming everything—that’s where my love for storytelling was born.
