Bakers work at night. They work in a different time zone, so to speak. The film ‘Nocturnal’ attempts to capture the extremely rhythmic and quiet work of these people and show what remains hidden to most people – where our daily bread comes from. Unfortunately, the baking trade is dying out, especially in small bakeries, and the bakery portrayed here will also have shut down its oven by the end of 2025.

biography

Felix Müller working as DoP since 2020 and now studying at Internationale Filmschule Köln IFS in Cinematography. He happens to make small movies on his own sometimes.
