Synopsis – The Stakes Paris, 1837. Wilson, a young man of mixed race, works as an apprentice trunk maker in a workshop. In a society where Black people and foreigners are looked down upon, he hones his craft in silence: creating sturdy and elegant trunks for travelers in a rapidly changing world—stagecoaches, steamboats, trains. Every day, he sees luggage mishandled, stolen, abandoned. While he dreams of a workshop bearing his own name, Wilson faces rejection and prejudice. Over the years, however, his skill and ingenuity establish him as an exceptional craftsman.
