BEAUTIFUL SMILES

In a luxury hotel, Thaïs and Nala, two close colleagues, see their image removed from a promotional photoshoot favoring “certain types of smiles.” When Théo, the owner’s son and Thaïs’s secret lover, justifies the decision in the name of artistic direction, the masks fall and discomfort sets in. Caught between desire, humiliation, and power dynamics, Thaïs must choose between staying or preserving her integrity. Beautiful Smiles explores the silent dehumanization orchestrated by fascist beauty standards, and the moment when choosing oneself becomes a political act.
