At the heart of a forest stands a tree bearing the scars left by humans on the flesh of wood and earth. It carries within itself the memory of the wounds of the forest that surrounds it. A young boy passes through, a botanist–draughtsman at heart. Drawn in by a mysterious song, he approaches, as if enchanted.The tree, mistaking his presence for that of destructive humans, offers him a mushroom — a fragment of its underground memory. The boy tastes it, and a hallucinatory journey unfolds, where the beauty and the buried suffering of these places intertwine.

biography

JB and Thibaud Deschamps are two brothers who make films together, exploring the resistance of memory and nature within modernity. Based in the Berry region, they organize festivals and create projects rooted in local stories, drawing from archives, legends, and the region’s landscapes.
