1944. In the Vercors mountain range, one of the major strongholds of the French Resistance takes shape. Facing a growing threat, the German army launches its assault and regains control of the massif after two days of unequal fighting. The survivors are relentlessly hunted down. Severely wounded, Pierre tries to escape when he comes face to face with Franz, a very young German soldier, equally lost and overwhelmed. In the midst of this tense situation, only nature, and all its beauty, can guide these two young men away from the absurdity of war.
